Chapter I
Unbreakable Mirror was born from the lived experience of a survivor. After escaping domestic violence and family violence, our founder — herself a trained beautician — understood something profound: when you have been stripped of your identity, your safety, and your sense of self, something as simple as seeing your own face clearly in a mirror can feel like the first step back to who you are.
From her home, she began offering free beauty services to other survivors — women in hiding, women starting over, women who had not been able to look after themselves for years. What started as one person helping another quickly became something larger: a community, a movement, and now, Unbreakable Mirror.
"I wanted to give every survivor what I wished someone had given me — the chance to see themselves as whole again."
— Founder, Unbreakable Mirror
We operate as a registered non-profit organisation. Every service is funded through community donations, pay-it-forward contributions, and sponsorships. We currently operate entirely out of our own pockets while we build our capacity.
We are inclusive of all — women, men, children, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and anyone who has survived family violence or domestic abuse. You do not need to prove your story. You only need to reach out.
We are currently in the middle of renovating our dedicated salon space. This renovation will allow us to serve more survivors in a safe, beautiful, and purpose-built environment. If you are a tradie, a builder, a supplier, or simply someone who wants to help with materials or labour, we would be deeply grateful for your support.
This website itself is under construction — just like us. We are building something real, something lasting, and something beautiful from the ground up.
